“I have worked with Fearsomengine on a number of very different projects ranging in scale and technological complexity. I have always found their drive and energy blended with a creative approach and balanced with a real sense of efficient pragmatism an enjoyable and successful proposition. The design work they did on the exhibition pod started with the vaguest of briefs and resulted in the solution which achieved and surpassed all requirements at the time and developed potential future uses. Fearsomengine represents one of the best pictures of a good design company.”

Bruce M Wood, Director, Centre for Creative Industries, Glasgow Caledonian University

What is often missing from an exhibition of well designed products is a well designed method of exhibiting those products.  With this grievance in hand, DxD commissioned fearsomengine to come up with a more radical solution than the classic painted MDF box; something more visually striking, yet just as practical, if not more so.

What resulted was the Display Pod.  A modular system comprised of roto-moulded shapes that can fit together in a variety of ways to provide the exhibitor with an assortment of display surfaces.  The idea first took form on paper during a typical fearsomengine brainstorm and was then quite literally carved out, in foam, before being prototyped in fibreglass.

Prototypes were tested out at an small exhibition before ordering tooling for the polyethylene production models.  As part of a comprehensive project package fearsomengine oversaw the manufacture and delivery of the pods, before heading down to help set them up at DxDs flagship exhibition in Stoke.
