“The Fearsomengine input was to say the least quite remarkable. Their understanding of the brief, attention to detail and their artistic input went way beyond our expectations”
Alex Connell, Managing Director, Univate Ltd
Serial Scottish innovator Alex Connell challenged Fearsomengine to devise a solution for parents with young children on the move. Alex had identified a problem common to many when accompanying toddlers in public places - that of the child’s curiosity leading them away and out of sight of the parent. Traditional reins occupy at least one of the guardian’s hands hence problematic if carrying shopping, and electronic solutions to the problem do not give a direct mechanical link with the child hence lack a feeling of reassurance.
Our solution was to have a ‘hands-free’ umbilical connecting a unit on the parent’s waistband to an elasticated belt worn by the child. The cord is self-retracting to help prevent entanglement and a seat-belt style lock-out was incorporated to halt the child’s movement in the event of a sudden fall.
